- Entry level system = 486 DX2/66 doesn't it? Easily $US700. With a monitor,
- HD, soundcard, far more RAM than a 1200, and easily piratable software from
- work/school.

-
- (Are you saying your 2000 doesn't have a hard drive? And most serious owners
- would say yes, AGA does suck for displaying high res screens with a decent
- amount of colours)
-
- I know several PC owners. Were you aware that many PCs now have video
- hardware on the motherboard? Regardless, a decent PC tower has at least 5 or
- 6 slots, and has plenty of space for extra cards. None of my friends have
- ever needed more than the standard systems they bought.
-
- And I haven't heard of the 1200+ being in a mini tower. The last I heard, AT
- had catagorically *denied* this happening, claiming it would be far too
- expensive.

-
- PCI is also PowerMac compatible, for a start. Are you saying it's
- *preferable* to stay incompatible (and therefore, far more expensive) just to
- say we're different? And besides, I've read PCI can transfer 90 Mb/sec.

-
- I'm talking about the *standard* OS. Try and sell Amiga to a professional,
- and see how unimportant standard VM, MP and networking are. Currently, the
- machine is a professional joke, and PD hacks and addons won't help us in the
- eyes of the PC community.

-
- No, you're wrong. Your intentions are good, but you're a little misguided..
- :)
-
- Perhaps you haven't noticed that AT want us to buy Amigas *now*, not in 1997.
- The Amiga is dying *now*, time is not being suspended a year or two for the
- vapourware PowerAmigas.
-

-
- No, it's not the cheapest. I could buy a Pentium system for the price a
- 1200HD costs in Australia.
